Dr. Ryan Bookstaff is a graduate of The Ohio State University, where he completed his undergraduate degree in 2011. He then went on to attend North Carolina State University, earning a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree in 2015. During college Dr. Bookstaff spent his summers dedicated to his career, gaining experience as a zoo intern and working in wildlife rehabilitation. After completing veterinary school, Dr. Bookstaff went on to complete a year-long rotating internship at Angell Animal Medical Center in Boston, where he worked alongside numerous specialists while emphasizing a focus on Emergency & Critical Care. He has since practiced both Emergency Medicine as well as General Practice and enjoys the rewarding challenge of helping clients understand their pet's medical needs while offering them the best options possible to keep animals happy and healthy.

Dr. Bookstaff, originally from the Cincinnati area, relocated to Chicago after his internship and hasn’t looked back. His favorite thing about Chicago is the food and constant energy of the city, and in his free time, he enjoys spending time with friends and exploring the city. Dr. Bookstaff has one dog, Riley, a 6-year-old Lab mix he rescued from PAWS, who spends time with him in Chicago and also travels to his family’s home in Cincinnati.
