Dr. James Hardiman is the Managing Veterinarian at Wrigleyville Veterinary Center, and works hard every day to make sure the entire team is providing the best possible care and service to our patients and clients.
Dr. Hardiman attended the University of Iowa, where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree, and the University of Illinois College of Veterinary Medicine, where he earned a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree in 2010. Following his graduation from veterinary school, Dr. Hardiman completed a year-long internship in small animal medicine and surgery at The Animal Medical Center in New York City, gaining valuable experience in one of the busiest veterinary specialty hospitals in the nation.
Upon completing his internship and returning home to Chicago Dr. Hardiman spent eight years practicing emergency medicine, where, amid the often hectic pace of an emergency room, he would take the time to calm anxious patients and their concerned owners. He understands that pet emergencies are often stressful for all involved.
Every day Dr. Hardiman comes to work he feels honored to have the opportunity to protect the relationship an owner has with their pet. A Chicago native, Dr. Hardiman enjoys all the city has to offer, including the restaurant scene, live music, and sporting events. When he is not busy caring for animals, Dr. Hardiman enjoys playing golf and can be found hitting golf balls at the Diversey driving range on his days off.
In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his family, which consists of his wife, Lindsey, their two dogs, Lou and Ham, and one cat, Zelda.
